The PWMC is uniquely able to respond when disasters strike in our area. In 2018, Hurricane Michael made landfall along the Gulf Coast and the PWMC team of volunteers quickly mobilized to set up a ‘Clinic in a Can’ program in a parking lot in Bay County. We were able to treat 1,352 patients providing the equivalent of $169,000 in office visits. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the dedicated team at the clinic was once again able to rapidly respond to meet the needs of the community. Thanks to Felix, our Mobile Medical Unit, we were able to safely administer more than 3,000 COVID tests. We served 2,584 unduplicated patients and had 3,793 patient appointments, a 104% increase in appointments from the previous year.
